PC Arenas Colchester now has Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars installed on 11 computers and we're offering the 1 free hour option for the next 2 weeks. Due to the size of this game we had to remove the old C&C Generals / Zero hour and also Warhammer: Mark of Chaos from the high end computers. The free 1 hour offer lasts until the 4th of May. It is 2047 and the stakes could not be higher. Tiberium - a self-replicating alien substance that has infected the Earth - is spreading like a radioactive ice age.  Yet another RTS game has been added to our list, this time its Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. Again like Supreme Commander, we will be giving away 1 free hour for people to try out this game. Simply pop in the centre to use this time between the 23rd Feb - 16th Mar.
Faithful to the Warhammer license, Warhammer: Mark of Chaos puts the focus squarely on the battlefield with a real-time combat system that gives the player unprecedented customization and control of his army.

The Burning Crusade is now fully installed on all the clients computers. If you own World of Warcraft and this new expansion then everything is setup any ready for you to jump on and continue questing. The clients continue to have a host of addons to make your wow interface more personal or to just help you in gaming.
Several years have passed since the Burning Legion's defeat at Mount Hyjal and the races of Azeroth have continued to rebuild their once shattered lives. With renewed strength, the heroes of the Horde and Alliance have begun to explore new lands and broken through the Dark Portal to investigate the realms beyond the known world. Will these heroes find friends or foes? What dangers and rewards lie in wait beyond the Dark Portal? And what will they do when they discover that the demons they thought vanquished have returned to renew their terrible Burning Crusade?

| Company of Heroes 1st week, PCAC winner |

The first week opens for Company of Heroes and a nice turn out of 5 players entered. Games seemed to go well with only one persons game disconnecting that was down to his opponents computer rebooting. Also one of the guys playing from here didn't get a game due to the opposition not showing, giving him a default 2 points (equal to a draw). However this guy went on to win the £100 prize draw for the night. A big well done to Stu aka Unafraidgunner, pictured above holding his winnings.
Stu brings us to a total of 4 winners in IGUK events that include: IGUK FFA50 UT2004 and 2x IGUK FFA50 BF2 Creative labs X-FI winners. I hope this inspires others to give these events a go. You don't have to be good to win, or in Stus case, play at all.
NOTE: It seems IGUK changed their mind on the prize format. I was told it would be 2x £50 but it now looks to be the full £100 to one lucky person.

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade will be taking over Dawn of War: Winter Assault FFA50 Friday slot in the Winter Season which starts 2nd December, plenty of time for iGUK Gamers to practice. The game will first appear in an iGUK competition in the much coveted All Stars 3 on the 12th November, those centres that have signed up get to play the game and represent their centre with the possibility that their performance may help win the whole competition!
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade will feature two new playable races, the Tau Empire and the Necrons, bringing the number of totally unique races to an unprecedented seven. In addition to the two new playable races, Dark Crusade will feature an all-new single player campaign centering on the conquest of a "meta-map," with each territory captured giving tangible rewards to the occupying force. A greatly expanded multiplayer component and a completely unique economy model for the Necrons will present gamers with the most compelling Dawn of War game to-date.

A small update on the IGUK Company of Heroes Lotto.
This event will be hosted on a saturday night and I'm told there will be 2 prizes of £50.
I will send another update when I have information on the rules.

After what seems like forever, we have finaly been able to reintroduce Steam back into PC Arenas Colchester. We currently hold 10 cafe accounts which means you don't have to own a login for Steam in order to play the titles on offer. However if you do own an account, you can still use the system to play with your friends within PC Arenas and online.
This also means you can now take part in the IGUK Counter-Strike Source FFA Lotto on wednesday nights and have a chance at winning £50

The PC's are AMD 64bit 3500 with 7600GT 256 MB PCI-E graphics - a vast improvement on the old machines which can be seen in the game play on some of the newer games
